            Ski information and race schedules for citizen races.  Information about ski areas, conditioning, equipment, etc.  Membership for mailings is $35/yr.

 USSA (United States Ski Association)  www.ussa.org  
           Supports US ski team, jr Olympics, etc.  Membership is necessary to participate in their sponsored races.  Adult Fee = $120/yr.  Students are less expensive.

 TUNA – The Utah Nordic Alliance  www.utahnordic.com 
            Sponsors a series of citizen races on the Wasatch front.

     Masters categories are for those over 30 yrs of age.  All of the following races are open to Masters, and most are open to younger versions of yourself.  These races have a nice relaxed atmosphere, so novice and expert racers are welcome.

12/8 Tuna Citizens Classic 10k race at Soldier Hollow

12/8&9  Bozeman Supertour classic sprint and 10-15k freestyle races.  Must be USSA member to compete.   www.bsfnordic.com/supertour/

12/15-16  Steamboat Nordic Camp.  Similar to W. Yellowstone but smaller numbers of people.  Katie Lindquist and Emily Lovett run it, and Sarah Konrad is schedule to be one of the instructors.  Good camp.  www.thenordiclink.com

1/12    Teton Ridge Classic Race, Driggs Idaho
    These are 2-28 km races depending on desire/ability.  Excellent terrain and conditions, with a small number of participants.  Carolyn Gilbertson is defending champion of her age group!

 Jan. 21st   LNSA full moonlight ski and Potluck dinner.  Details forthcoming, but probably at GC.  This is on MLK Monday night.

The Lander High School skiers will host another ski clinic for novice to advanced skiers on Saturday, January 26th from 10:00-12:00 at the Lander Golf course.  The cost is $10 or a donation.  At 1:00 skiers will have the opportunity to try their skills with a citizen's race (cost $10.00) for all ages and abilities.  Anyone interested in signing up for a ski clinic or citizen's race can contact me for more information.  All proceeds will be used to send the Junior Olympic qualifiers to Alaska in March.

1/26     TUNA 10k Classic at Mountain Dell, Utah.

 2/2       Boulder Mt. Tour in Ketchum, ID.  30k’s down the valley,  10 waves of about 100 skiers, three aid stations, and free zip-bags.  A very well run race that draws skiers from across the country.  www.bouldermountaintour.com

********NEW***** Feb. 5th   Waxing clinic at Gannet Peak Sports,  Taught by Coach Dave, cosponsored by CWC.  7-9 PM, cost is $10.  Details to come.

2/9       Moosechase race at Jackson Hole.  5-25k around the flat meadows at the base of the ski area.  Roughly 100-200 skiers, so you don’t get lost.  Usually 5-10 Landerites.  www.moosechase.com
